    Hi,

I've replaced my broken WDTV (Gen 2) with the the Live version. I decided on the Live version for the DVD navigation capabilities. I've installed the latest firmware (v 1.04.17). All my DVD's are ripped to a Western Digital 2TB USB hard drive. They are all Video_TS file types. The unit plays some videos like a DVD (with the menu, special features etc etc) but not all. For example, The Office (Series 1) works fine but not Series 2. However, series 2 plays like a DVD on my mac.

Would it be the firmware or something else? Which is the lowest firmware that retains the DVD navigation? Or should I convert the video_TS folders into iso's?

    Any help is appreciated,

    Cheers,

    James

It has been reported earlier by some that ISOs have better menu support than plain old VIDEO_TS folders, so feel free to try. As for the folder containing the VOBs, IFOs and BUPs, according to the manual it needs to be named VIDEO_TS and nothing else. Also, try playing the VIDEO_TS.VOB file for menus to work.

P.S. DVD menu support was introduced in one of the many betas that came out after 1.02.21 (maybe with 1.03.22?), so if you want to downgrade, try going back in order till you identify the latest one that works. I don't think you should need to downgrade though.
