How are WD HDTVS distinguisable from others? |

They all look black, and look extremely similar!
is there a way you can distinguish them from one another? The serial even looks too blury and tiny! the only way to know is to check the firmware? I wonder how stores check for this types of stuff. i am asking because i want to buy from a friend, and i dont want to buy if its not the plus one. Lastly,should i really update? I have the First gen HDTV one, but plan on getting the live or plus. which one should i go for? i plan on using the rad firmware (hub is too expensive for now.) |

A simple google search of the model number on the device will decipher which device you have in your hands.

If the serial is too blurry or can't be read, check the about screen. The firmware number alone is not sufficient, since multiple models can have FW with the same version (although the FW is not interchangeable). |
