I found out that last version support Czech (language) user interface but without support of Czech language subtitles. In settings Subtitles is only choice for Middle European languages (in Czech language are uncompatibele signs as "ěščřžýáíéůú") Special "ž-š" are rendered as "_-_". My question is if future firmware will correct it?

No idea, you'll have to ask WD. BTW, you have both a Gen. 1 and a Mini?

The same is with Polish. After setting the subtitles language to Central European, 3 letters from the Polish alphabet, i.e. "ą", "ś" and "ź" are displayed incorrectly ("ą" as "š", while "ś" and "ź" as "_").

Besides, sometimes an "artifact" appears on the screen, i.e. a random letter in front or right behind a certain line of text, even though in the subtitle file there is no such letter typed!

Well it's been a while since the Mini received any FW updates, and frankly I don't think it's going to be updated any more just like the Gen. 1. So most probably, what you have now is what there is, end of story.
