Probably the WDTV outputs in 60Hz, and your TV only supports 50Hz. Common problem on older TV's. Look in the video settings if there is a way to change it.

Hi, I am pretty new to this technology, my tv is around 10 years old. My WD mini works fine with my other tv's but with my Toshiba the picture is almost black and white with only a slight hint of colour.
Does anyone know if there is a setting I need to change? |

Obviously it's a problem with your old Toshiba TV as mentioned above by ToJa92. Did you check if the Mini has a Display Resolution option under Video Settings (like the other WD TV models do)? If you can't set the player to output at 50Hz, and your TV doesn't support 60Hz (check its settings too), then I don't think there's any way out but to use your player only with the TVs that do work for you.
