I use the WDTV live on a switchable power connector to save energy. Usually devices automatically go to standby when their AC power is restored. Not so the WD-TV-live. It automatically boots up which might be good for some people but not for me. I'd like to have na option to automatically send the device into standby mode after boot.

    Add me to that wish.

Why would a device ever come ON after a power failure is beyond me?
The old one did the same thing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I just bought a new surge protector and want to plug the WDTV into the power saving side, but don't want the WDTV to power on when I power on my receiver (master). So add another vote for this option.

The same switchable power connector problem here. Don't want the WDTV to switch on when all I want is to watch a BluRay Disc in the Disc player (which is on the same connector, as is the TV). So +1 for that wish.

Agreed, WDTV Live should switch on to standby... like every other device.

Another user requesting the same option.

I use a timeswitch to turn off the power to the WD device and other related media center boxes when I know there's no chance they're needed. When the power returns, the WD comes on and that's entirely counter-productive.

I never want it to behave in the way that it is currently configured. When I want it on, I'll turn it on!
