I have problems with some videos on the WD gen 2, where the video is jerky. It is quite clear, but it seems like the player is having trouble with frame rate or something. This happens with various envelopes - I have to do a bit more study to see exactly what the video specs are. Just wondered if anyone else is having this problem.
These same video files play fine on my computer. Thanks in advance! |

Could be the bitrate. Could even be the drive being used. Use alternates (files/drives) and see.

Many of the files I play are absolutely perfect. It's just that some of them just don't play properly. I was just wondering if I should do a conversion on them, or . . . ?

Well, re-encoding any problematic file so that it conforms to the player's specs should pretty much ensure that it works. Thing is, since the exact specs aren't known in many cases (such as max. bitrate supported etc.), it's a bit of hit and miss really. Try running MediaInfo on similar files that do work, then use settings that will result in your problem files being re-encoded similarly. If you do it once or twice, you should get the hang of it.
