I have a bunch of videos and audio I want to check out to make sure that they will play on the wdtv. I know what file types will play however sometimes even though they are listed they dont seem to want to work. Anyone seen anything like that around for the wdtv? It would be far easier if I could just identify the problem files using something along that line than having to manually fo through 500+files on the wdtv.
    thanks!

Yeah, if something like that was available, I might even pay for it. Problem is, WD's never released any exact compatibility specs, so as you've found out, in theory while they claim that such-and-such codec/container is supported, in reality some files just do not play. Admittedly some of those may be encoded badly or not according to standards, but that's not the case always and still the player might refuse to play them.
