    Can wdtv search and watch videos, for example as it does youtube videos. can it search sites such as channelsurfing.net to watch live online sports action?

    Other than the supported sites, it cannot access videos from any others. Try a media server application such as TVersity or ps3mediaserver and see if that helps.
