Hey there...
I've had some problems with my WD TV in the past regarding the functionality of m2ts playback. With some Blu-Ray untouched movies I've had my WD TV freezing at certain points in the movie. For example "IMAX - The Alps"... The WD freezes every time at those specific points in the movie, but I can FF past this point. I've tried remuxing, but this doesn't help... Is this a common problem, is there a simple way round ? I hope I'm just being stupid |

I have quite a few m2ts movies and they all play fine for me.. all are 1080p movies, fairly large, over 10GB.. no issues here.
are you using WD original firmware or custom firmware? which version of what are you running? |

Hi,
1080p movies run fine, but blu-ray untouched sources won't work properly. I am using custom firmware at the moment, but the problem occurs with every kind of firmware. |

Hi,
I'm playing from a hard drive. Bandwith should not be the problem, since I've been playing untouched BD's with almost double the bandwith than the critical file. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) |

okay, does the drive have an external power supply or is it just USB powered?

Well, it is either a drive with external power supply (WD MyBook 1TB) or a WD Passport drive (1TB) with just USB.

If this happens only with some files and not all, I'm inclined to suspect that maybe those files have bitrate spikes or something that the player cannot handle, which would also explain why the problem always crops up at the same point. Re-encoding should help for sure, but then you'd be losing some quality obviously.
