Hi Everyone... I'm new here and I could not find anything pertaining to this, so I apologize if it has in fact been covered. I just got my WD TV Live Plus yesterday and I am storing the files on a 1.5 Tb WD external drive. For the most part everything looks great, but I have a few questions.
Previously, I was streaming off my laptop using Windows Media Center. My movies were arranged in folders with the title of the movie, and each folder was the video subfolder, a folder.jpg (cover art) and and xml file with metadata. In order to play a file, I only need to select the main folder and press play and everything works like a dvd. What I have noticed with the WD TV is that if I play the folder, the movie will play, but there is no chapters (vob, or iso file), but if I run the actual vob or iso file, the chapters work. Not a big deal, except that (and maybe I'm being picky) if I have to run the file itself, there is no cover art once for the file. I guess I am just trying to get this thing to look and work the same way as media center and am looking for some pointer on how to set this up right. Also, what's the deal with the media library? The manual mentions it, but I cannot find it in the gui (nor do I know how to create playlists). Sorry for all the q's... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) |

If you have "File name.iso", try putting "File name.jpg" in the same folder (not too large in size, and around 120x180 IIRC).
As for the Media Library, that's what enables the separate views such as (All) Videos, (All) Music, (All) Photos etc. If you turn it off, you'll need to navigate the folder structure on your drive. |

I did actually try that. The jpg seems to work for the folder, but not for the file.
