Share a folder in Windows Vista, Quick Tutorial |

Follow the instructions below to share a folder in Windows Vista.
Navigate to the folder you want to share. Once found right click on the folder and select Share.

Number of downloads: 43If your system requires a login be required to access a shared folder select a User account to assign to the share and than click Share. Otherwise simply click the Share button.

Number of downloads: 18Allowing a Folder To Be Shared On Windows Vista Follow the instructions below to configure your computer to allow folders to be shared in Windows Vista. Open the Network And Sharing Center from your Control Panel.

Number of downloads: 19Next to the name of the network look to see if it is a Private or Public network. If your network is Private skip to step 5 below. Otherwise click on the Customize link. Select the Private radial and than click OK.

Number of downloads: 24If it is set to Off expand the File Sharing field and Change it to On. If you want to share the pre-designated Public folders in windows, expand the Public folder sharing field under Sharing and Discovery.

Number of downloads: 23Select your choice of the two "Turn on sharing..." radials. Click Apply. Note: Windows Live ID Assistant is known to cause problems, so remove it as mentioned here. |
