Hi, First post, so hello to all.
Here's a question - which might make me sound a bit gormless - but can I, via usb socket on WD player, connect to an external HDD and record anything that I may be viewing at that time (via HDMI). For example, could I record a YouTube or Netfix clip. It's all new to me, as I've only just got the Live SMP, and want to play with it! Shame it doesn't have the component output - as the older ones seem to have. Any help much appreciaed. Cheers, Les. |

No, it's strictly output via the HDMI from the WD units, unfortunately..

Ha ha... Thought that might be the case! Still, there's the composite output that I could use for recording to a DVD/HDD standalone unit (Liteon) - or is the signal encrypted in any way? Tried the unit using it earlier and it seems to work well, but Netflix seemed very laggy on wireless ( I have Infinity @ 30meg via HH3), although it appeared fine via a long ethernet cable.
Thanks again for your help. Cheers, Les. |

You could simply download the YouTube videos and view them whenever you like via the Live SMP.
