Hi, if all of my files are kept on an external Hd that has be formatted as mac os extended journal (which i did so i could transfer files of over 4gb's onto it) would a WDTV have any trouble reading the MP4 files on this HD? or would the hd have to be reformatted back to FAT32?............i think i have explained this correctly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Hi hellboydce,
Moved your topic to a more suitable section. Now lets see if I can help you out, if your external drive is formatted to hfs+ journaled then the WDTV will not be able to read to properly BUT you can format to hfs+ (NON-journaled) and it will work like a champ. All my drives are formatted to hfs+ and have yet to see any problems, the largest file on the drive is 52GB concert. BTW fat32 will not hold anything over 4GB if its windows that you use then format that drive to NTFS and you're good to go. Hope that helps. Cheers!
Reason for edit: Changed NTSF to NTFS
