I have a Samba share set up to give my WD TV Live Plus access to my MythTV recordings. They're MPEG2 HD streams I record from ATSC broadcasts. They play back just fine, generally.
What I'd like to do is watch shows that are still being recorded. I can start the show playing, and it plays fine, but it ends when playback reaches the point where the recording was when playback started. For example, say a show goes from 9 to 9:30, and I start watching at 9:10. At 9:20, playback quits when it hits what was recorded at 9:10, even though the recording goes beyond that at that point in time. I suspect the player reads the file size or seeks to the end to figure out when the file is over and quits when it hits that point. Anybody got a way to get the WD TV Live Plus to treat the file more like a stream, and keep going while there's more file to play? |

Arg! Sorry, the playback really does continue past the point it had reached when playback started. It's just the file position display that's not updating. I can live with that.
(Posting a problem to a forum sure helps me start (!) thinking more clearly about it.) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Yeah, sometimes articulating the problem properly makes you think about it differently or approach it from a different direction altogether.
