First, thanks to all who have contributed to many a days worth of reading on this site. Very informational and helpful as well as fun!
I was wanting to get some ideas/suggestions on what would be the best way to configure my equipment to stream to view movies on 3 different tv's from one location? I have moderate technical knowledge and can thumb through most anything if it is written. Here is the equipment I have: Windows XP pc - 3.2 ghz P4 processer, geoforce 7950 gt vid card, 2g ram, wired linksys router Living Room - 50" plasma, HT Reciever (HDMI, DTS all the goodies), digital cable dvr hd box, upscale dvd player, xbox 360 wired to router, 500g portable hard drive Our bedroom - 32" lcd digital cable dvr hd box, upscale dvd player, wdtv live Kids room - 24" lcd, dvd player, wdtv My goal is again to pull all movies to all 3 tvs from one place. I watch alot of 720p, 1080p mkv files as well as xvid .avi's. I have the capability to easily wire anything underneath the house. What would be the ideal config??? I can purchase a limited amount of extra equipment if needed. Please help and thanks in advance!!!! |

Hi, Looks like what you want done can be done but you will need some cabling and rf remotes to run the box from the central location. I really think your best bet is to get wdtv's for all the rooms then have a central hdd to store all the content. Thats the way I do it and it works great, just make sure you use a wired network instead of trying to do this all wirelessly. Hope this helps you out.
Cheers! |
