I just bought a WD TV Live Hub this afternoon and am stoked to try it out..! The cable guy is coming tomorrow to set up internet, etc. and I want to hook up and use the hub right away. The cable outlet is set up in a very convenient place in my new place - right behind where the entertainment center/TV goes, so the cable modem, wireless router, and WD TV Live Hub will all be inches away from each other.

I know I have to set up my wireless router to the cable modem. However, after I connect my WD TV Live Hub to the wireless router (via Ethernet) and set that up, do I still have to add a wireless USB card in order for my laptops to see the WD TV Live Hub, or should they already be able to see it wirelessly since it's plugged directly into the router?

(I'm a complete home networking newbie; please be patient and don't burn me down if this is a totally stupid question...)

If your laptop can access the router fine wirelessly, you shouldn't need anything else and the player should show up on the network. Which router is it BTW?

Thanks for the quick feedback! I had to go out of town on Friday and haven't tried to link to it over wireless yet, but will try it tonight & let you know what happens. The router is a D-Link Wireless N 150 Home Router (DIR-601).
