I have my WD TV Live with latest firmware 1.06.15 and have been connecting it to WD Elements and MyBook whereon I have copied data AVIs, mp4s, etc off of the net.

When i dload the files from the net onto the mac and copy on to external drive they work fine. but often times when i thereafter try to play file on WD TV Live by connecting External Drives to WD TV Live the files get corrupted. File Size gets mentioned as unknown in preview mode and when i play it, it mentions that WD Tv Live is unable to play the selected file. It in fact corrupts the file because when I thereafter connect the Drive to my macbook again, the file which once upon a time used to work now shows up as 0Gb.

This is driving me rather nuts. I disconnect and connect drives after properly ejecting them. Help.
