    sreen keeps rolling when using composite cables but is alright using hdmi

    First of all, which model do you own exactly - the original Live or the newer Live SMP? You can use the first link in my sig below to confirm.

    Next, under Video Settings check if Video Output is properly set to NTSC or PAL, as appropriate for your region. To change, use a fine-tipped stylus or the unfolded end of a paperclip to press the reset switch, and hold for 10 seconds to toggle between NTSC and PAL. Pressing it for one second will reset the player to factory defaults.
