I always eject the drive before removing it when the player is running, but I don't bother when it's shut off. Are you saying you also eject all the drives BEFORE you shut the player off?

Yes, I know it sounds like overkill (and should not be required), but that's exactly what I have always done and continue to do.

I'll give it a try and see if it improves things. Thanks.

I've been wrestling with my 3TB drive and the LiveHub ever since I got it. This serious problem is when I attach it to my Windows 7 (32 bit) machine to update it, I get errors and many many files are missing.

I never do anything on the LiveHub but reads, I always eject the drive first, but these errors keep happening. FW 3.00.28.

I'm interested in any other users' experiences.

Don't own the Hub, but somehow despite it being an obvious PITA, this is the procedure I've always followed. Is that why I've never had similar problems? No idea.

I've tried that procedure, but no matter what I do, periodically it will lose a directory and dump the contents into the "found.0000" recorvery folder, sometimes multiple directories. It doesn't actually delete or corrupt the files, just deletes the parent folder.

Since it now supports powered USB hubs, I think I'll just go back to 2 TB drives (when I can afford them again) and use the 3TB for my PC's backup.

Sounds like despite WD's assurances about 3TB drive support in recent FW versions, there are still kinks to be ironed out. What a surprise. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Obviously people can't afford to risk their data, so I guess your move back to 2TB drives is for the best. At least those did work fine last we checked.

I haven't had any problems with the 2TB drives, ever.
