I have read other forum posts suggesting to partition your 3tb drive or run it as a NFS share.
However I don't think it's too much to ask that the WDTV could play a 3TB external drive plugged directly into the device. Especially considering WD sells a 3TB external drive. It seems like it would be a match made in heaven . WD, please fix this! Also does anyone have any idea exactly if/when a firmware update that include 3TB support would be released? This year? Thanks |

Also does anyone have any idea exactly if/when a firmware update that include 3TB support would be released? This year? WD never lets on about future FW updates (I doubt their processes are so well planned that even they can predict properly). So no point asking such questions really (we all learnt this a very long time ago). If they ever manage to fix this issue, it'll come to you via an update one fine day. |

from what I have read (and recall) I think it has something to do with a kernel limitation, so until they update the kernel they are using, this wont happen.
I may be thinking of something else so if anyone has any info to add, please do, I don't want to be passing around false info.. |
