I spent ENDLESS hours getting this thing to work with my W7 machine. The process was the most frustrating PC experience ever. I finally got it to work and it has been reliable for several months. Yesterday I had my whole family over for movie night and it cant find the network.
I cant believe in this day and age this has to be so difficult.
There has not been one firmware update for this thing in the last year that I've owned it. I was really hoping that WD would work on getting this thing to network easier.

I suppose I'm wondering if anybody can outline a simple troubleshooting procedure, though I dont think I have it in me to spend days on this again.

the biggest thing is getting the permissions correct on windows 7.

x64 windows seems to be easier than the 32 bit version for some reason.

as for firmware updates, hasn't been one since last August, they (WD) seem to have abandoned the Live and Live Plus

I have no idea how you are trying to view your Win 7 PC so I can't even suggest anything.

as for difficult to get them networked, took me less than 5 minutes, I have no idea why you are having so much trouble...
