Upgraded it again, and the did a hard reset, just to be sure.
No, still doesn't do it. Same issue - when stopping a playback (*.avi - or Youtube), it takes me back to filelist, but autio keeps playing, then I have to power of, and then when it's on again, the graphics are alle messed up. Then a reboot, so now the graohics are OK. But the "stop playback issues" presists. I can see if I compare the two versions of fw, (1.02.21 and 1.05.04_v), that in 1.05.04_v), that when I do a playback of a media-file, the time is missing, at the buttom of the screen, only the progressbar are there. Now with two different WD's, I can't belive I'm the only one, with these issues ?! /SGP |

Hi. I have the exact same problem and almost the same setup. Not found any solution yet and it's very frustrating. I have the WD TV Live HD with a QNAP 219P on a wireless n-network. The unit has worked perfectly the last 2 years playing everything perfectly even large 1080p MKVs. A couple of weeks ago it startet not working properly, i.e. keep playing file in background when stop playing and showing the "unable to play selected file..." error message when I try to play other media. I have performed the following steps, how ever unsuccesfully, trying to identify the problem:
* Rolling firmware back + brute force reset + factory reset * Wired connection to NAS * Scanning media with MKVfix (uses MKVtoolnix) for header compression * deleting .wd_tv file * adding read/write access rights on NAS (the WD only had reading rights before) tomorrow I will unplug WD from network and try to play the same media from an USB drive (after resetting of course) and rule out the NAS as the source. If still not working I will try deleting all media on drive and try to add and test one file at a time and see if there's any pattern here. Lastly if that does not work I will throw the device out the window and spend a lot more time with my family :-) I'll give an update on the above procedures later Cheers |

Well, I gave up, and my money are being returned, for the WD player. And a Popcorn Hour has been ordered, I'm sorry, but the WD player does not give a good impression.
