    Hello all,

I am having troubles getting my WD TV Live Plus to fast forward when playing .mkv files with the H.264 codec for video. I want to stick with this container because of the option to use AC-3 as my receiver does not decode AAC. Unfortunatly, the player tells me that this file does not support trick mode when I try to fast forward. I have tried using MP4 codec for video and it will allow me to fast forward but as soon as I hit play, i get sound with no picture. Please advise.

Try remuxing the file with MKVMerge GUI (part of the mkvtoolnix package).

I attempted to remux both .mkv and .mp4 with MKVMerge GUI with no success. Other than not being able to FFW through video, the quality is great.

Then it's a problem with how the files have been encoded. Either re-encode (and lose quality), or try other files.
