I just got my WDTV Live and so far i love it, however i am having a problem. It will read and play my 1tb FAT32 drive without any problems but it won't even recognize my portable NTFS drive with all my HD movies. According to the manual it supports both and HFS+. The drive is a Simpletech 250gb filled with mkv files. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Reformat as NTFS with all default options selected under Windows.

If still no joy, then probably the drive might not be getting sufficient power from the USB port. It's always recommended to use an externally-powered USB drive.

I am having a similar problem with a 1 TB SimpleTech drive. The drive gets recognized, and it tries to scan the drive, but instead of loading an NTFS driver for the file system it loads VFAT.

I am speculating the problem might be because the drive doesn't show up like other USB drives, it shows up as a "SimpleDrive" or "SimpleDevice" when connected to Windows. I believe that is so that its custom backup system can work with it...
