I have the WDTV (WDAVN00BN) which I've used on my Samsung 46" 1080p LCD (LN46A630) for two years with no problems. I recently purchased a LG 42" Plasma (42PJ350) for the bedroom and hooked up the WDTV using HDMI as I always have. The WDTV menu and everything displays fine but when I try to play a video, the screen goes black and nothing plays, the option menu doesnt come up, and no remote functions work except going back to the menu. I rehooked it back up to the Samsung and it works fine.

WDTV firmware is the latest. Any ideas on why it won't play on the plasma? Thanks.

Does the new TV have composite connections you can try? If those work, could be an HDMI handshake problem or something.

I think this is an issue with the LG TV. I've read that some (or all) LG TV's require the hard drive to be powered, as opposed to being powered by the USB. I tried using my powered hard drive and it started to play, but then went black screen. The WD TV continues to work on the Samsung, just not the LG. Might just have to buy another media player for the LG.

I have the exactly same problem but with only 1 movie. My tv is a LG SL90.

What I realize later, is that I forgot to remove the Header Compression from a movie.

When I tried to play that movie, none of the others would play. I would have to do a cold reboot.

Got my HDD back to the computer and reprocess the MKV Container. Problem solved.

Have you found any answers for this issue? I have the same exact TV and the same
Exact issue right now and I can't figure it out for the life of me. Please let me know if you figured out the issue and how to correct it. Thanks
