I have a 250gb & 320gb WD passport drive. After I hit the power button on the WDTV I still hear the passport drive spinning ? I searched through the forum and could not find a clear answer, its seems as if the HD should spin down but I can still hear it, is there a time frame for it to go into standby? I am using firmware 1.02.10

Hi, What did you get figured out please fill us in. It should spin down but not power off your drive, the WDTV Live will power down drives.

I used the wrong term, the drive does spin down and only the LED remains on.The problem I was having occurred if the unit is powered off while playing a file, my passport HD will remain on.I have to press stop first or be in the menus before hitting the power button for the drive to spin down.
