       Help with network shares not finding content, Can connect to shared folder but no media found

    Hello. I'm new to the forum. thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

    I have a WD TV Live Plus with the most current official FW. I switched from a PS3 using the D-Link Media Server v1.1. The WDTV crashes this media server. I'm connected to my router by wire. According to the instructions for the WDTV, it's supposed to find my media and be able to use it. Nope!. I've been reading about networked shares and followed some of the examples about how to set up sharing. I am trying to share 14 folders containing all Mpeg2 and a few HD TS files. These folders are hard drives mounted to folders on the C: drive. The WDTV connects fo the shared folders (only four of them), all 14 were set up exactly the same. When I access any of the folders, I recieve a messege "no media found"

    any ideas?

    The support you get here is identical to the email/phone support you get from WD as well....eh? Sorry bud, I would help you if I could but I have exact same issue, so I'm not even gonna bother posting it. Good luck, I may just ship my 2 back and get something from someone who cares.

    wrong, we are enthusiasts who do what we can, where we can.

    this is a WDTV forum, not PS3 and dlink and whatever other hardware you have.

    go ahead and tell us half of what we should know about your particular setup and let us try to guess it out..
    nice try.

    and by all means, ship your media player back, I honestly don't care either way and I'm sure no one else here does either.
