Hi All,
Just got a mini and i like it, but i can't figure out how i can browse through my music collection by artist or genre.. maybe I'm just being stupid but there is nothing in the settings menu. It should be possible according to the manual but it's not explained how? It would be really nice if this worked so any help is appreciated! thanks |

Yes, the manual says this:
QUOTE • The Music, Video, and Photo icons represent folders for the different media types. Media contents will be displayed either as file/file folders in a USB drive directory or as a media compilation list based on metadata information. For example, music files can be categorized based on their genre or the artist’s name. • Settings lets you customize the way you use the media player and set preferences for media playback. For more information, see “Settings and Advanced Features” on page 41. But no more info. unfortunately re. just how the categorization can be achieved. Stupid typos like "System teset" really point to a person with absolutely no clue having written this manual... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif) Hope a Mini owner can chime in and say if this is even possible. P.S. I hope your MP3s etc. have the proper artist and genre ID3v1 and v2 tags populated? |

yeah music is tagged, and that info is displayed when playing tracks
I'm really at a loss here.. one thing is that at no point the complete harddisk is scanned to build a list or database.. there does seem to be some related functionality that does work, if i switch the 'browser display' setting to thumbnail mode instead of the list mode and go to the photos menu then it does scan the whole disk and shows the thumbnails of all the pictures on the disk. but this does change anything to the music player |
