    Hello,

I have a Tvix M-6500A with original firmware 1.5.16 with internal HDD Seagate GreenPower 1Tb, a WDTV Live with a modified firmware B-Rad (WDXLTV Live) and a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M3483G Notebook (Intel Celeron) with Windows XP Home Edition, all connected together via LAN.

From my computer I can see the TviX folders Video - Photos - Audio (via Samba typing user: tvixhdi - password: tvixhd1) and I can then play their content.

From TViX I can play the contents of computer’s shared folders with NFS through the Netshare utility.

With WDTV Live I can play the contents of my computer’s shared folders but I can’t in any way to see the TviX’s folders. The problem is that I can’t share TviX’s folders in any way. In fact, if in my computer I clik on TviX folder to share does not give me the chance to share. I also tried to install Linux (Ubuntu latest release) to share the TviX’s folders but strangely when I mount the folder tvixhd1 tells me that the Video and Photos folders have a lock of protection!!

    Please can someone help me?

    Thank you.

does Tvix have a support forum, it sounds like everything to do with the WDTV-Live is working fine..
I am not sure if anyone here has any Tvix experience.

    Hi,
thanks for your reply. I also wrote in the forum of the TViX and I'm waiting for a response. I wrote here thinking that there was any special settings to change in the B-Rad firmware.

    Cavicio-

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I have the exact same setup and the exact same problem. WD TV Live can see devices on the network EXCEPT TVIX. (I have a TVIX 6500 with a 2 TB internal drive that I use as NAS and video server.) Yet I also have a Seagate GoFlex TV and it CAN see TVIX, no problem.

I called WD Support, and while they were responsive and helpful at first, but after they determined the scope of the issue they said it was a "level 2" issue and I needed to be home during business hours (which I am not) in order for them to follow up.
