I bought the MediaSonic Probox which is basically an external drive enclousure which holds 4 separate drives. It is USB/eSATA ready. On a computer, you will see each drive separately with each drive assigned a drive letter.
I was all excited about this and then I plugged it into my WDTV LIVE, and it only sees one drive in this storage box. What a bummer. This thing also looks so nice. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do, aside from accessing it via a share? I want to be able to turn off my computer when I watch movies, and the computer is located next to my big screen. If USB hubs were supported in this, do you guys think that it would then see all the drives in this single enclosure? I'm trying to install B-RAD's usb hub enabled FW, but I'm having problems installing from a USB Thumb. I appreciate all suggestions. Thanks! |
