I am using my eTrayz (brand:Extreamer NAS Drive) to store my movies, and a WDTV Live to play them over a wired network.

I created a file on the eTrayz called "Movies" in the "public disk" folder.

On the WDTV, I can access this folder through the "Network Share" option. When I choose etrayz:(name of my etrayz), first option is "Public Disk", I click that and get 3 choices, "Movies", "Music(iTunes)" and "eDownloader".

I have created a user on the etrayz for the log-in of the WDTV Live.

My problem is when I access my "Movies" folder with the WDTV Live and select a particular subfolder (movie), it does not play the movie at all. The time indicated on the WDTV Live display is 00:00.

Is there a problem with my settings? firmware? I already updated to Release 1.02.21

Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Might be the NAS itself. Many people have had problems getting their NAS to work properly with the Live.

    Hi,

I am thinking about this combination, can i ask if you we're able to resolve the problems you outlined above?

I have the live plus, had the same issue with my dns-323, they key is share the NAS as a Network Share, i dont know if yours has that option, but mine does, then when u select it through wdtv dont select media servers, select the network shares and it all works fine from there on.
