I've ripped some of my dvd's with Handbrake using either the Apple TV or Apple TV Legacy preset, still some of the rips won't play in WD saying "no audio channel" and giving me a blank black screen. Any idea what's the problem? I thought this should be very friendly format as my iTunes plays all of them perfectly.

I use Handbrake to convert my dvd collection to MP4 format. Use output setting: format: MP4
    Basic/Normal setting works for me.

I have the same problem, but with only one DVD in particular so far, out of about 25. I'd be curious to know what the answer is. Thanks.

I did not have the same problem with handbrake but have had many others so I switched over to Autogk and have not had problems since! its freeware and great! just another option if your looking to try another approach! Im creating xvid in the avi container and able to keep the dvds original ac3 5.1 audio!
