So i got the 1st gen WD tv... lan/net/wifi isnt my thing...
Ok so, i got a few complaintings, mostly for the software: #1: hardware: the ability to add a hub-device so i can plug-in a few hdd more... had to sell 1 and buy another one with much more space for prevention... #2: Software is too slow, im mean, the response from going to one directory to another one... plus, you have to deal with the fade-out / fade-in... so it get really slowly... #3: When you are playing a movie, and you open the menu with the "option" botton, it lacks of: widescreen mode / normal mode... so you have to go back, and back, uhhh then back again.... then select video/audio->screen (enter)->wm/nm, then back, videos->usb->xxx-> recent files->select->continue... u kidding me???!?!?!?!??!? "The fast menuīs must have always fast access: tipe of window mode, digital/stereo sound, subtitles mode (size, colors, etc.), zoom, jump to time..." #4: Another way to fast foward.... theres no way you only get >> x4/x8/x16 >>.... thers must be another way like to: "jump to..." #5: its impossible to see some digital picturess, it too slow, if u press "next" manually, takeīs like 3 secs, if u use "play auto" it takes like 5 secs. Its very annoying, u just simple CANT! (DAMN FADE-OUT/IN) #6: The music managment its a little better, but u cant (or at least i couldnīt find it yet), add a playlist #7: Adding different kinds of Zoomīs when playing format files than wont fit 16:9 #8: Not really important, but having a personalize menus will add much more to this tiny product: changing types of icons, increase/decrease size of icons (like the windows option: "View") Any way, thatīs whats lacking to this wd tv to be a 10+ And please add a "POWER OFF" botton or a little lever on the product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Honestly, I agree with all the above 100% (and have my own list as well), but the Gen 1.'s wishlist area is pretty much worthless now, since this model's firmware is no longer going to be updated by WD. Even b-rad has stopped working on WDLXTV updates for this model and is focussing nowadays only on the Live/Live+ models. As for hardware updates, well why do you think they released the other models?
