       h.264 aac, any chance to get h.264 aac support on this device?

    Virtually anyone I know uses .mp4 files with h.264 aac file format -
    Any chance to get a firmware update for the wdtv mini to play these?

    Since this is an underpowered device unlike the other models, and even older PCs have problems playing back H.264 720p/1080p rips without stuttering/sync issues etc., most probably the answer is no. This is why I never recommend the Mini to anyone. The savings make hardly any sense whatsoever because sooner or later, one is bound to move on to better quality media.
