So recently I've come across two different 720p .mkv movie files that has DTS audio. Normally I would just use popcorn AudioConverter to convert the DTS audio to AC3. So I did this to these movies and tried to play them on my wdtv. All I would get is a black screen and no audio, the video wouldnt play at all.
Does anybody know how to work around this? I'm thinking these are the new mkv files that has the MKV2rls headers. Since just using AudioConverter doesn't work anymore what other way are out there can I try to have the video and audio to work? Am I supposed to use AudioConverter to convert the audio to AC3 then use mkvmerge 4.2.0 to set the audio/video extra options to 'NONE'? I need help because I've differnt types of options and nothing seems to work. |

Since Popcorn MKV Audio Converter uses mkvtoolnix to mux MKVs, unless it includes an option to not use the header removal compression feature, I guess you'll need to undo that yourself using either mkvmerge or mkWDclean etc. You can contact the Audio Converter author and ask him to include such an option and maybe he'll oblige.
