I have a number of AVI files that start almost in sync as the playback begins but eventually as the file plays it audio track is seconds behind the video track. Can't seem to find any method of syncing the two tracks. Is there some way of doing this within the wd media player. The files are stored in a wd external drive.
Thanks for assistance in advance. Sparks |

Hey guys,
I have the exact same problem as the OP and figured there's no need for a new thread. Until now all of my files, be it AVI, MKV, MPG, etc, have all worked without any sync issues. However, this particular group of AVIs (Remington Steele Season 2, haven't tried other seasons yet) all start off in sync, then get progressively worse as the episode goes on. Even if I press fast forward and next 3 times to skip to the 30 minute mark of the episode, it is still just as out of sync as if I were to watch those 30 minutes. I ran it through mediainfo: CODE General Complete name : J:\Movies\Remington Steele\Season 2\S2E05 - Steele Framed.avi Format : AVI Format/Info : Audio Video Interleave File size : 442 MiB Duration : 48mn 34s Overall bit rate : 1 272 Kbps Movie name : S2E5 - Steele Framed Writing application : Lavf51.17.0 Writing library : VirtualDub build 28346/release Video ID : 0 Format : MPEG-4 Visual Format profile : Simple@L1 Format settings, BVOP : No Format settings, QPel : No Format settings, GMC : No warppoints Format settings, Matrix : Default (H.263) Codec ID : DIVX Codec ID/Info : Project Mayo Codec ID/Hint : DivX 4 Duration : 48mn 34s Bit rate : 1 134 Kbps Width : 480 pixels Height : 360 pixels Display aspect ratio : 4:3 Frame rate : 23.159 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Compression mode : Lossy Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.283 Stream size : 394 MiB (89%) Writing library : Lavc51.47.0 Audio ID : 1 Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 3 Mode : Joint stereo Mode extension : MS Stereo Codec ID : 55 Codec ID/Hint : MP3 Duration : 48mn 34s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 128 Kbps Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 44.5 MiB (10%) Alignment : Split accross interleaves Interleave, duration : 43 ms (1.00 video frame) Interleave, preload duration : 500 ms Writing library : LAME3.97 Any help is much appreciated. Cheers Edit: Also I should mention that these files all are perfectly in sync on my PC and when I stream them wirelessly to my LG Blu Ray player. |
