open the avi file in Avidemux, left Video and Audio on "Copy", changed "Format" to MKV, and saved it. No more sync problem on the WD, and no re-encoding involved.
Choose `yes` to unpacking, when you do the save make sure you put in the file name plus extension .MKV The whole process takes about 2 mins for a 1.6GB avi. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/AviDemux http://www.avidemux.org/admWiki/doku.php?id=general:faq |

To create a MKV you can use the MKVToolnix as well
Quite fast and no problems. Been using since the beggining! |
