Anyone else find that the "hang" time of the Info bar is way too long? Its not bothersome when one first gets the media player but as Ive gotten familiar with it I find it too be way too slow to close (or disappear?)
I had at least 1 device in the past I think it was a sony VCR that had an adjustable hang time for on-screen message displays. Ususally options like:
    1second (FAST)
3seconds (Which I found about right)
5 seconds (This is where the MPlive seems to be)
I know there is only 1 setting at a time since the feature is not built in to the hardware. But should be adjustable to a faster setting with a FW update, correct? I was wondering what the consencus is for other WDTV owners about this.
Its slightly trivial but I find it annoying to have that HUGE info bar just hangin... and hangin.. and hangin.. ah screw it ill hit the button a second time to clear it. Around.
I implore the powers that be : reduce "Hang" time from 5 loooong seconds to 3 seconds. PLEASE !!

So I see 40+ views of my post but noone, absolutley nobody has anyhing to say? No opinions, no questions at all? Nothing?
And this on a core aspect of the basic functions that literally everyone uses. This function that needs refinement

I see various threads created, discussed, responded to on some topics that I find in my use of the Media Player either trivial, unneccesary, or I
just dont understand the need for. But perhaps my topic is just not understood. I dont write with the ease and fluency that many of you do
so I willl clarify my topic in hopes it will get support. I will need support to have this refinement. I am amazed it hasnt been addressed by WD
since this is an issue that EVERY user interacts with, the on-screen display. The Info Bar.

OK, pick up the remote for your TV. I have a Panny G10 but all tvs will demonstrate my point. Raise the volume a notch. Up pops the volume
bar. On my Panny it displays for about 1 second. maybe 2 seconds at most. PLENTY of time to verify the level. Its also fairly small and not intrusive.
My sisters LG LCD set is the same. change channel, volume etc the on-screen display bar pops up and off in + or minus 1 second.
This is what I call "Hangtime" (how long it hangs around)
I have had devices like a zenith 25 inch tv set (best on-screen display ive ever used) that allowed an adjustment for hang time.
but thats a luxury thats rare The Hang time is set at the factory. I would think its set in the Firmware and could be changed on the WD.

Now get your WDTV remote and fast forward then hit play. Star counting. And counting While that HUGE info bar just Hangs around
and Hangs around. And Hangs around. And Hangs around. I find i just hit the enter button to get it off the screen.
Annoying. Unless your a reallly slow reader i guess?
All the major manufacturers have calculated the optimium hang. which explains why we dont see an option to adjust it.

Except the WDTV. It needs this refinement. Could a firmware update fix this? The slow readers would have the option of keeping theirs
as is. I am a bit baffled that Noneone seems bothered by this kludgy OSD. It could be easily improved.

Ok, let's get one thing straight just in case you're not clear about it - this is not the official WD forum. If you wish to complain about this directly to those who can do something about it, please post here.

Having said that, from past experience I can pretty much assure you that seemingly 'trivial' matters like this will be completely ignored by WD. After all, it took them more than 7.5 months to release new firmware, and that's still causing havoc for lots of people. So many bigger bugs remain unfixed that you'll be lucky if this one ever is. Plus it's not even a real bug per se, since the lack of responses here seems to show that not too many people are bothered with it at all, or to the extent you are. I can assure you that your English has nothing to do with the dearth of comments.

I don't know if WDLXTV custom FW can help here. Maybe b-rad and co. can think of ways to modify the OSD hang-time (or maybe they already have). Why not contact them and ask? If you find a solution that works, don't forget to post back here, so that someone else as bothered about this as you can also benefit.

if you just press the select button the info bar disappears right away.
like WDUser said, that's not likely going to be even looked at, they are having bigger problems, netflix is a "little" upset that a set top box that can stream netflix can also be haxored..
so the live plus and live hub will be getting a lot of attention now, that means the live has likely seen it's last firmware update for a long time, perhaps like the original WDTV, they think it's mow perfect and no more development is required..

    time will tell.

"Info Bar" Displays it too for a long time on the screen (6-7second)!

This time 6 Second to reduce firmware cross it's possible?
Very much this time, which disturbs me very much! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/angry.gif)
I am bored with it very much steadily to prod the ENTER button at this time!
All "normal" movieplayers display it until only 1-2 seconds.....This OK and Correct.
Is onto him method onto the alteration? Firmware programming?
    Please Help!
