I was wondering if it is possible to force audio out the optic audio output.
At the moment I have audio playing from both the HDMI to the TV and optic out to my amp. This is annoying if someone forgot to turn the TV volume down after using a different device that does not go to the amp. Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

that is the preferred method actually.
I have an HDMI cable and an optical audio cable both going to my receiver and then 1 HDMI out to the tv, the receiver handles everything. works great. |

Finally, an answer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I've been reading around a bit (haven't bought my Live or Plus yet...) and just found this forum. Just to make sure I can read correctly, the HDMI and optical out can run concurrently (no matter which one I buy)?? My TV has an HDMI in (obviously) but my Harman Kardon amp doesn't. That means that my TV will be the video (and audio too if I turn it up) but my amp with my Polks will hold the audio. I bought a Sony player and only found out later that if you plug the HDMI in the digital opt. cuts out... |

I set the audio out to digital and it has always gone out the optical, 2 both of the receivers I have used, it never skips or misses a beat!
