Problems with playback, MKV files Options

hi all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) i have WD TV HD Media Player (Gen 2) Current Firmware - 1.01.77 (12/2009) but it is not play mkv movies with this Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC.It is posible can play iso with some trick or hack?

Reason for edit: Edited title and changed ISO to MKV

So are you trying to play MKVs or ISOs? The player can play DVD ISOs fine, but doesn't have menu support like the Live and later models. As for MKVs, try this tutorial first.

mkv my friend like this movie SOURCE..........: Grown.Ups.2010.BluRay AVC 1080p DTS HD-MA 5.1-CHDBits but Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC this iso not play in the wd.other movie with no iso play very fine.i try the mkv merge

Ah, ok. I got confused when you mentioned ISO files. For future reference, the extension is important, so call MKVs as MKVs and not ISOs, despite what the codec ID field says in MediaInfo.

Must confess that looking at that report, it seems the file should play. Do you get some sort of error message when you try to play it? Do both audio and video not play? How is the player connected to the TV? Do you have an external receiver?

the movie its not play.only read.i see in my hard drive click play but nothing.the player connected with hdmi 1.3.I think the problem is to playback mkv

Again, do you get an error on trying to play the file? Or just a blank screen? Can you try with the composite/component connections instead?

P.S. If the problem is with the player's firmware, it will never be fixed, since this model has been abandoned by WD. So you'll need to re-encode the file, or obtain another copy.
