Ok the box works fine unless I try a HD Blue ray file with MKV format & DTS
is there a work around for this , whether it be a modded file or not would love the optical to work but would be happy with just the sound out of the TV right now there is no sound at all, but a beautiful picture!! |

Audio output is set to stereo or digital? How is the player connected to your TV/receiver?

Many different ways , I first tried HDMI to tv with the sound on stereo
then tried with the optical to my home theatre setup , with it on digitaland still nothing I read about using toolnix and did exactly what it said to do, that gave me a box that would show nothing at all even avi's that worked before resetting the box brought back the avi movies though |

Since you posted in the WDLXTV thread, do you have WDLXTV-G2 0.4.5.0 installed? If so, DTS is apparently broken on that release and you need to downgrade.
Also, run MediaInfo on the problem file and post the text format report here. |

1.02.07? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) Check the first link in my sig below to identify which model you have. Do you even have a Gen. 2, or is it the original Gen. 1, which completely lacks DTS decoding support? If the latter, no wonder the FW update option didn't show up, esp. if you were trying to install Gen. 2 FW on it.

Well it was bought on ebay
I will unplug it & check, but when I typed the info into the box at the officiaL WD site it said gen 2 Funny I typed these numbers in at the WD site & it told me gen 2 can't find them in your list though PIN - WD 00AVN-00 S/N WNT 292820344 also says Recertified in Malaysia Just went back to the official WD site, with the PIN # it now says Gen 1, so I guess I am screwed, guess the wife got burned on ebay
Reason for edit: Looking at the list, that P/N can only be for a Gen. 1, so moved/merged the thread (also the Gen. 2 has the DTS logo on it)

Ok so it seems even though the wife bought a box in Sept, off of ebay braND NEW IT IS A gEN1 too bad
we have the problem of not playing DTS files I have read and seen the Gen 1 will not support DTS I will be happy to have sound out of the TV, the picture is more important to us Is there any kind of software that will take the movie and convert the Audio part to something that would work? that would solve my problem |

You can search the net. There is tons of ways of doing that.
The best way for people not so familiar with this type of problem, is to spend sometime configuring the Popcorn Converter. Once it is 100% setup, it will pick the DTS movie, and automatically convert to AC3 and recreate the MKV. And you can do batch mode if I am not mistaken. Try to search for it. |

I just bought the sony sound bar which is 3.1 and is reasonable around 18k and is not a mess with wires. it has 2 hdmi input and
gives a very good crisp sound. i just opted it to get rid of all the wires and play dts and dolby sound in mkv format. thanks |
