I currently have only dial-up internet access as I live in the boonies and nothing else is available.

My Hub is networked to my PC ( Win 7 Ultimate 64 ) through a LinkSys 802.11b router.

Can I set up my Hub to access internet through my pc to get info for the movies and weather info ?

I know that streaming anything would be impossible but all I want access to is simple info like weather . . .

It has to be possible but cannot figure it out.

I currently move files to my hub no problem so the connectivity is there . . .

I shared my internet connection but Am not sure if I've done it right ?

Would someone with knowledge about this help me set it up ? I will then write a guide and of course mention them (unless otherwise required) and would post it to help others, I'm sure I'm not the only one in this situation and the help could reach others and improve on this community.

    Mike.

So long as your router is connected to the internet when you go to access the whether information this should be possible. but seeing as how you're on dial-up and probably need to be at your PC to connect, it makes no sense to me why you wouldn't check the weather, etc. on your PC while you're there. As for movie info... the default firmware doesn't get info from the web.

Just scratching my head on this one a bit.

Hi, as for connecting to the internet through dial-up, my computer has it's own line ans is always connected to the internet, That's why it would be nice for my hub to be able to access (share) that internet connection.
