I don't seem to be able to find a way to get the songs in an album to play back in track order. They are MP3s, with the proper tags set. My Gen1 did this, but I can't seem to find an option in either Filter or Sort (where I would assumed I would find it).

Well, I got my answer from WD Tech Support on this. I quote:
"The WD TV Live Hub will play back songs based on the file name, not on metadata. So if the songs are numbered in the file name, they should play in numerical order, if they are not numbered in the file name, they should play in alphabetical order." THE LIVE HUB WILL NOT PLAY BACK SONGS IN TRACK ORDER UNLESS THE FILE NAMES ARE PRECEDED WITH THE TRACK NUMBER! In other words, Live Hub does not look at the track filed in the tag anymore (unlike previous generations). Anyone want to renumber their entire catalog of songs to the stone age restrictions? Is anyone using a software player (free or otherwise) that doesn't give you the option of playing songs in track order, as they are on the album? |

I've said it before and I'll say it again - these players are crap when it comes to music playback features. Of course, it doesn't help when the FW devs working on the newer models are worse than those who worked on the older ones.

FW 2.06.10 fixes this problem. Also fixes the problem where pressing "Next Page" in the audio list would skip a track in between.
Now if they can address the horrible problem where choosing "Artist" mode gives you all the tracks by that artist without a breakout by album. |

Actually, 2.06.10 only fixed the Next Page problem in Album View, not Folder View. FW 2.08.13 fixed it in Folder View and, amazingly, did not break it in Album View at the same time! |
