Its really irritating that im watching any movie and suddenly my WDtv crashes out of nowhere. this is happening on:
movie files like: avi. mp4. m4v and mkv
    with different time lengths
from a WD 2TB external Hard drive. (connected to the energy source)
latest firmware (updated 4 days ago) (problem happening since before the update)

and keeps happening. almost always midway through the film not on avery file almost always on movies or documentaries
its just returns to the movie file menu and if I try accessing the movie again it gives me the option of "restart or resume" if I click resume it starts where it crashed and a few seconds after the movie is being played crashes again.
    Please help.

Try a hard reset, or downgrade to the older firmware which worked for you (see Tutorials section).

perhaps the player is overheating? unhook it, take it outside and blow it out with compressed air to see if it helps??
