(IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) To what depth do playlists work then on an NTFS drive? Also, if it works, WTH was that supposed "Guru" you talked to blabbering about? Where does WD (Support) find these guys anyway? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) That's what I was thinking about....The "Guru" should look for a new job.....they clearly have f'd up with the playlists from the beginning (alphabetical order?....really?) I didn't test anything further than my own directory setup, but it was something like: T\Tragically Hip\Day For Night [flac]\Nautical Disaster.flac B\Barenaked Ladies\Barenaked Ladies (EP)[flac]\Brian Wilson.flac and the m3u playlist was placed in the same folder as the Letter directories. When I selected the playlist in WDTV, it showed all the songs that were listed (as opposed to "This Folder is Empty" like before), and they all played fine and in order. One down, gapless audio, dvd menus and dts downgrade to stereo to go........ |

One down, gapless audio, dvd menus and dts downgrade to stereo to go........ Sigh... If only it were as easy as this one i.e. a simple change of file systems... BTW, DTS support will probably never happen, 'cos AFAIK it's a hardware issue and so new firmware can't do anything about it if the decoding chip itself doesn't support the format. Why do you think they released the 2nd Gen. anyway? |

I had the same problem, and I find the solution.
I am using wd hd media player generation 2 and Linux. The playlist must be saved in relative path (not absolute) so that wd hd media plyer could see the playlist. In linux there is program Easy tag. Load the whole folder with music (including subfolders) pres alt+w (write playlist) and you have option to save the playlist as relative path. The playlist is saved in m3u format, and you can play the list from the player. Hope that I helped somebody Chears |

Are you sure you have the correct capitalization of all paths in the playlist / file name you? If this check in order to test you can rename the things the "R" longer and see if that works?
