If it's surround sound you mean you will have to get a reciever that supports surround sound as the WDTV can't downsample the sound while playing the movie.

Can someone direct me on how to fix my wmv hd audio problem, i don't know how to fix it to play on my wdtv, please help. I saw on a other forum this; "How can I play WMV-HD with audio ? WDTV dont support WMA9 5.1Pro have to be audio track reencoded" Is that correct??? |

That is correct mate. The reason the WD TV sports such a low retail tag is because they have not brought licences to quite a few audio formats, notably DTS and the likes. Sadly WMA is also one of them.

what program can i use to transcode my audio while keeping the wmv 1080p video intact? IE: just re-encode audio, DO NOT touch video, also, BATCH support would be nice, see'ing as how everything 1080P Is encoded with WMV5.1 AUDIO / 1080P for the 360 users out there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Will custom firmware fix this issue, or is it hardware related?
I assume the codec part is software, and b-rad's wdlxtv when finalized will support this - am I wrong in making this assumption? |

you assume incorrectly.
this is a hardware player, software and codecs do nothing for adding additional formats, it's a sigma chip that does all the decoding. WMA pro is supposed to be working in the latest WDlxTV-Live and likely the live plus but I don't have any files to play to either confirm or deny this as for the WDTV1, no idea IF WDlxTV will correct it or not at this point, is B-rad even going ahead with a new custom firmware, it's pretty much peaked with what the player can do already.. a few bud fixes perhaps but will any new features be added, it is doubtful unfortunately |
