       subtitles doesnt work over samba network share

    Hi,

    recently I've installed linux samba server to share files in my home network. Although I can view video files without any problem (mkv) WDTV live cannot display subtitles over samba network. Subtitles are in .srt format with the same name as the .mkv file. Subtitles displey perfectly when accessing them with my Windows Vista computer with VLC player.

    Does anybody encounter similar probles and know how to resolve it?

    I can display .srt files perfectly from the usb disk connected directly to my wdtv live.

    I have official firmware version 1.06.15_V.

    Hi guys,

    did someone encounter similar problems with wd tv live ans samba shares? This is my second insatllation of samba server, and I don't recall that I've had this problem with previous instalation and older version of we tv live firmware.

    Or can you at least prove me being wrong?

    Hi,

    after some additional testing over weekend I must say that everythinh is working flawlessly. I can only persume that it was human (read: my) mistake during previous testing.

    Anyway, I'm closing this issue.
