       External HD Staying On Even When Powering Down Unit

    I've noticed that the my external hd will stay on (Well the light at least) when I push the power button the the wdtv remote. When I unplug the usb from the WDTV the light turns off but that is the only way to resolve this. This issue didn't happen for me on the Live-Plus

    ***SOLVED****

    Well I realized pressing it quickly brings the External Hard Drive into Stand By Mode with the LED Light On

    But instead of a quick press I held the power button in a little longer this time and It shut off the hard drive!

    If you have Media Library turned on, you may want to just put it in standby. In which case, you have two advantages:

    1. The Media Library metadata/XML are updated while on standby so they're ready when you use the device
    2. The device turns on instantly and the "Compiling media" will only take a few seconds

    For #1 to work, the HDD must be powered up while in standby.
