    Hi,
I am new to this forum , so please bear with me.

I have just upgraded from an original WDTV (1st Generation) to a WDTV LIVE (2nd Generation), mainly because I wanted the DTS decoding for my MKV files.

I have thumbnail covers for all my films that are identically named to the MKV files, and they all show up - the problem between this player, and my old player is that with this new one, whenever i update and change any of my covers, they are not updating, the menu still shows the "old" pictures !

This has happened to every cover i have tried to change, and really frustrating, as the old player updated the pictures - no problem !

I don't think it's a firmare issue, as I am using 1.4.xxxx, and my friend has the same problem with the latest 1.6.xxxx

Any thoughts please would be greatly appreciated....

    Sean !! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I expect the issue is the unit has cached the images and will not rescan/refresh unless you power the unit off properly (as in pull the power). Switching it off via the remote only puts it into standby mode.

the only way it repopulates automatically is if you use the EXT functions which are only available in WDLXTV firmware based on 1.02.21 firmware.
that base firmware is over a year old now unfortunately and you will have to reboot or run linksheets manually (on WDLXTV) to see them.

Regarding WDLXTV, which version of the Live do you have exactly? The latest SMP model (Gen. 3)? There's no WDLXTV version available for that yet.

You can use the first link in my sig below to check your model.
