So a group known as RUDOS releases there caps as MP4, Media Info output here: http://pastebin.com/BpyYfp0z However the WD does not like the MP4 file sometimes(It plays there MP4 DVDRips, just not 720p.HDTV.MP4) but a quick remux to MKV through MKVMerge always gets the file nice and compatible with the WD Live. You can see the technical info of the same file after being muxed to MKV here: http://pastebin.com/tY8qU2AN

That worked fine until recently. They switched to doing 60fps caps for a few months, but unfortunately they switched back after to many complaints. Since the switch back to 30fps muxing the MP4 to MKV still makes the file nice and compatible..however, with out fail the files always freeze up at some point with in the video. I try to fast forward, but it still freezes at the same frame. So I tried a few things. I ran the MKV through an app called Meteorite. No luck. I tried running the MKV through Avidemux rebuilding the I&B frames while using copy/direct stream on the audio and video to retain full quality. Still freezes up. When it does freeze up, I hit the back button on the remote, and it takes me back to wall mode, but the frozen frame is showing in the background like a movie sheet would. The only way to get the WD to play any other file is a hard reboot from the Web UI or the Plug Ins menu.

So, with that said, does any one have any suggestions on any apps that may fix the mkv? If needed I can provide a 5 minute, ~170MB sample clip for testing. I noticed when playing back the file in VLC Media Player, the picture goes green (Screenshot). I am not sure if this was the case on other caps of theirs it happened on, or only this particular cap. I will have to reobtain other caps to make sure.

Sorry, I did not even realize I was in the Gen 2 forums at the time. Honestly, and I mean this with all due respect sir, but the category name makes it hard to recognize this at a glance. Perhaps a good fix would be placing the category or forum name in bold:
You're here : WDTV FORUMS > WD TV v1 | v2 | LIVE | LIVE PLUS | LIVE SMP | LIVE HUB | MINI > WD TV Live > VIDEO > Impossible to fix MKV
or better yet changing the category name:
You're here : WDTV FORUMS > WD Media Players > WD TV Live > VIDEO > Impossible to fix MKV
The breadcrumb is designed to give users a quick way to spot exactly where they have navigated to, but with the extremely long category name, coupled with the actual device name right after the extremely long category name, it some what defeats the purpose of quick forum identification via the breadcrumb.
I hope you dont mind some constructive criticism from a new member.

    Thanks anyways for the help.

Not at all; we'll see if there's an easy way to improve things. Till then, just remember to scan the breadcrumb from right to left, with thread subject coming first (when replying), sub-section coming second and player model third.
